I did really well yesterday and am doing well today.
Yesterday:
Breakfast-3oz of chicken, 2 pieces of bacon, and some coffee with cream. Cream is considered a carb, so I didn't eat any fruit of veggies with breakfast.
Lunch- 4oz grilled ribeye with olive oil, 1 cup veggies with full cream butter, 1/4 baked sweet potato with olive oil
Dinner-4.5oz Paleo Meatloaf w/ 2 bacon strips, 1 cup veggies, 1/4 baked sweet potato (left over from lunch)
Later snack-attempted paleo coconut ice cream---fail
2 mile walk with the kids in the double stroller. 50 lunges during walk.
Today-
Breakfast-3oz paleo meatloaf and less than 1/4 cup mashed potato (my bad!), coffee w/ sugar free choc milk mix and cream.
Lunch-4oz grilled rib eye (leeefftt overrrss!) w/1/2 cup veggies, 1/2 cup paleo Coconut ice cream--win!!
Dinner at Casa Molina tonight---wish me luck!
No workout tonight.
Tell me about the sweet potato....these are allowed on paleo? If so, my world just opened up......-Amber
ReplyDeleteYes! They are so allowed on Paleo! Just beware, although their carb load is lower than that of a potato and they are more nutritious, you still can't eat as many as you want (much to my dismay). James says that eating them after a workout is the best time (like for your next meal after the workout). Anyway, that Zone list says that one serving is considered 1/3rd of a 5inch potato. So...if you are only doing 2 or 3 "servings" of carbs, then you should only have 1 sweet potato and no other carbs with that meal. Veggies and fruit are still carbs and react that way in the body---you get it.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, So...yes! I love sweet potatos! But I have very, very small servings of them and don't have them every day! Enjoy the epiphany!
