Today went well! I didn't cheat, and I was only mildly tempted throughout the day :)
Spent the morning at Starbucks while my mom had the boys. Is "me-time" part of a healthy lifestyle? I loved having some time to work without the stress of my mess in the background of what I am doing!
Breakfast-- was the fuit, nut and cheese dish at Starbucks--1/4 apple, 1/4 cup of almonds with a few cranberries (all of this fit into a 1/4 cup serving dish), about 3 oz of different cheeses, a grande americano and a 20oz water.
lunch--chopped salad at Sauce, with chicken, pine nuts and gorgonzola cheese. I had them out balsamic vinegar on the side because they said they had sugar in all their dressings. I think I liked it better than with the dressing it usually comes with. I skipped the roll that came with it and drank two glasses of water. I was full until about 3:30 until I had my snack
Snack--handful of chopped pecans and an medium apple, and a small kiwi
Dinner--small piece of grilled chicken and some baked pumpkin with cinnamon, nutmeg and some butter. At first it tasted like pie that was missing something, but after a few bites, it grew on me and I found it very enjoyable.
I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow. All we have that is paleo friendly in the fridge are some eggs and some salad.
I fought the urge to make a latte with 1% milk today and had some tea instead. Hope I can keep this up!
No food after 7 tonight again as well. This is hard for me--I am a nighttime snacker.
I want to better understand this lifestyle. I read a blog tonight after I did a search for pumpkin to make sure it was ok, that talked about how much fat was in some paleo pumpkin pancakes--I didn't think that fat was something to be worried about? He said something like "take a long ride or run and you'll be fine". When should I start worrying about how much fat is in something?
I think I want a set menu to eat for the next few weeks to help me get an idea of what this looks like other than just not eating grains and sugar.
